Victorian rolled Gold , Silver and Ruby Ring

The Victorian era was defined by making fine jewellery available to all. One of the means to do this was to use Rolled Gold , very low karat gold or what by todays definition is called gold filled (The technique has changed as well as the name .
This gold is usually 1- 3 karats .
Here we have a ring from the Victorian period , the ring is unmarked but the style is clear.
The lovely design is used by creating silver wire work decorations on top of the rolled gold. in these decorations we have set 6 2mm round Rubies.
