Traditional 18 karat Gold Hoop Earrings from Uttrakhand , India
Availability: 1 in stock
These are traditional hoop earrings that come from the mountainous region of Uttarkhand in the HImalays mountains of India. They are completely handmade by a traditional jeweller somewhere in the district. Scrolled Wire work , granulation and engraving are some of the techniques incorporated into the design , and we can get feeling for the versatile craftsmanship of the Indian jeweller , be it in a urban or a rural setting. The Earrings are set with a 4 mm round Red stone which has been traditionally used as a replacement for much more expensive Rubies.
The stone can be changed to any other zircon or semi precious stone, also precious stones are an option talk to me about the costing of such an option. There is a clear Indian 18 karat Hallmark on these earrings.
